I’m Dani, proprietress of Oleoteca and major olive oil nerd. I’ve studied olive oil at UC Davis, I’ve made (award-winning!) olive oil as Like Family— I even became a certified olive oil sommelier.
Contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to travel across the world to find the best olive oils, — we make exceptional olive oils right here in California.
The industry is quite young, compared to Mediterranean regions, where they’ve made olive oil for centuries, but over the past forty or so years, California’s craft olive oil industry has exploded. There are now hundreds of talented artisanal producers making ever more interesting and well-articulated olive oils each harvest.
I created Oleoteca to showcase our state’s most superb olios and the dedicated producers who craft them.
