Our name is inspired by the many oleotecas in Italy and Spain, specialized olive oil tasting rooms devoted to celebrating the beauty and provenance of the finest extra virgin olive oils, often with an emphasis on sensory and production education.

Oleoteca is a craft olive bar and shop from olive oil sommelier, Dani Fisher, located in Oakland, California.

Inspired by the olive oil tasting bars in Italy and Spain known as oleotecas,
our Bay Area shop showcases small-batch, big-flavor California olive oil,
and the dedicated artisans who make up our local craft olive oil community.

A note from our founder

Hey there, I’m Dani, a certified olive oil sommelier and the proprietress of Oleoteca. I’ve been making extra virgin olive oil and Agrumato-style flavored olive oils for the past four years with my brand, Like Family, but I’ve decided to shift my focus from making my own oils to connecting my East Bay neighbors to the community of Californian craft olive oil producers that have inspired my own Olive oil journey — and nerdery.

California olive oil production is rather new, especially compared to Mediterranean regions, where olive oil has been produced for centuries. But over the past forty or so years, California’s craft olive oil industry has exploded, producing ever more interesting and better quality olive oils with each new harvest.

Now, hundreds of small producers have joined the California craft olive oil movement, and it’s an honor to showcase them and their exceptional oils at Oleoteca.

Let’s taste!

- Dani
